Child Health and Development
The early years of a child’s life — from birth to age eight — are critically important for learning and development. Whether we are early childhood professionals, parents, grandparents, or friends and neighbors, we all play a role in giving kids a strong, healthy start.
The Colorado Early Learning and Development Guidelines provide practical tips and information that anyone can use to support young children. Those looking for home visiting can use this Nurse Family Partnership referral form.
Grand and Jackson Counties believe that “Screening Means Success”. The Meeting Milestones Initiative (MMI) is a local cross-sector program that supports developmental, hearing, vision, and oral health screenings for pregnant families and young children in Grand and Jackson Counties. MMI works with community partners, early childhood professionals, health care professionals, and early intervention organizations to ensure smooth referral and follow-up processes with a suite of screening roadmaps and supporting toolkits.
